Looking at these pictures made me wonder, "What else went completely to hell in 1986?" As it turns out, a lot. That was the year that Reagan froze Libyan assets in the US and then sent planes to attack Libyan "terrorist centers." (Remember how much we hated Khadafi?) That was the year that Chernobyl had its little meltdown. And it was also the year of the fleeing dictators: Jean-Claude Duvalier fled Haiti and Ferdinand Marcos fled the Phillipines. Still, taking all things on balance, I think I'll remember 1986 as the year that a cat fell asleep on Tom's head.
Me and the wife moved out from the East coast to live amid the freaks and fancy folks here in Los Angeles, California where the only reality worth a damn is the one in your own mind. Nothing stays the same for long here so we keep our eyeballs moving and do our best to keep up.
